Fire Pits
There is something about sitting around a fire that makes us just feel good, helps us relax, and connects us with those around us. We want to help you experience that kind of magic on your own property, or even the much rowdier fun of gathering for barbecues on a Labor Day weekend. That’s why we install beautiful fire pits in the northern Utah area, adding beauty and warmth to any landscape job.
Professional Fire Pits in Northern Utah
If you are looking for the finest quality fire pits in the area at the best price, Old School Landscape is here to help. While it is possible to install fire pits on a DIY-basis, professional installation has the advantage of the highest quality materials and years of experience.
Fire pits are a great way to improve the ambiance of your outdoor evenings as well as extend the amount of time available to enjoy your outdoor living space comfortably. They also add visual interest to any landscaping job, and to that end are highly customizable. With essential endless variety, our team can help you find your dream fire pit.

Location
One of the things you must consider before having a fire pit installed on your property is where you want to put it. Where do you want your family or guests to gather? Do you want to draw them into the yard or keep them close to the house? How much room will you need around the fire pit? Fire pits close to the house have readier access to snacks, restrooms, and other amenities kept in the house, while units out in the yard let guests have an immersive experience in your landscape design and often allow for larger gatherings.
You should also take into consideration other aspects of your landscaping and how they will access your firepit. Do you already have a pergola? Adding a fire pit underneath may make the area even cozier. The same train of thought should be applied to trees, gardens, swing sets, or sheds that might also prove hazardous.

Design
The world is yours when it comes to designing your fire pit. Do you want it to stand out or meld with the rest of the landscaping? Do you prefer a contemporary or rustic style? Do you want your fireplace to be portable or permanent? While the sheer amount of decisions that need to be made can be overwhelming, our Old School Landscape team is here to help you through the process. We’ve got a wide range of ideas and are happy to help you explore yours:
- Do you want to integrate a wall or benches into the design?
- Do you prefer to keep your fire pit open and available for the most comfortable patio furniture or folding chairs to surround it?
- Do you want it to feel enclosed, a little haven from the wind or from the neighbor’s eyes?
- Do you prefer to build up around it or keep with a traditional “pit” design?
- Have you considered levels?
- Round or square?
- Gas or Natural wood burning
- Which materials strike your fancy, natural stone, pavers, stucco, flagstones?
If you’ve got a vision, we can carry it out, and if you need help finding your vision, we can do that too.

Fuel to Your Flame
The fuel source you choose for your fire pit is entirely up to you, and you have quite a few choices. It all comes down to preference. Do you love the smell of woodsmoke, or would you prefer not to have to air out your clothes every time you sit around the fire pit? Do you already have a fuel line near to where you plan to install? Are there regulations in your zone about what can and cannot be burned?
Generally speaking, modern fire pits are fueled by wood, natural gas, or propane. Firewood offers the “real experience” and certainly has a charm all its own. However, its emissions (smoke, sparks, embers, and ash) are off-putting for some.
Alternatives to firewood include natural gas. These do not have smokey emissions, and their installations vary in complexity. We can work with the best kind of fuel for your fire pit.
